First broke by 710 ESPN Seattle's Mike Salk this afternoon came the news of not only Don but mariners pitching coach Rick Adair being let go from the club.
This to me a week ago would not have come as a surprise but following the press conference with Jack Z last Tuesday I was convinced we'd see Wak polish off the season. Today it actually came on as quite the shock. Adair on the other hand in my eyes is a long time coming. The mariners are not by any means a Cy Young stacked pitching staff but they have a lot to offer. However as of late their decisions on the mound have been devastating and all fingers point the Adair. The game that sticks out in my mind is the second in the latest series with the rangers. The choices of how long to keep pitchers in as well as the chosen pitch location was just devastating.
I wish all the coaches well in the future and know that Wakamatsu will hit his stride with another club
Wakamatsu finishes off his career in Seattle with a record of 127-147
